Friday Finds…A day late.

Yikes, I’m sorry! Once again I trailed off of the consistent and productive path and abandoned the blog for a few days, but I promise I felt really bad about it! In my defense, I fully planned on doing another Dumb Summer Bucket List on Wednesday after work, but I got a last minute invite to dinner with a good friend who was leaving for Hong Kong the next day, so blame this loser:

Friends for 10 years, and this is the face I get.

And then Thursday after work, I went to the gym, and then spent the rest of evening baking for a work potluck, and then last night Jake and I went to dinner and movie (22 Jump Street for anyone who cares) and once I got home it was straight to bed since I had a 5k early in the morning. In conclusion, I’m sorry, but I’m here now? That makes up for it, right? No? Okay, well you are impossible to please.

  • McAlister’s Watermelon Lemonade

If there is anything I love in this world, it’s summer edition drinks. Whether it be a festive margarita, or some weird concoction from Sonic, I love it. That being said, when I waltzed in (okay, I casually walked) to McAlister’s last Saturday and saw their new collection of teas and lemonades, I was beyond pumped. Currently they have: Peach Tea, Wild Berry Tea, Strawberry Lemonade, Watermelon Lemonade and Wild Berry Lemonade. I opted for the Watermelon Lemonade, and it was delicious! Wonderfully tart with the sweetness of watermelon, I do declare (pop on your Gone With The Wind accent for this one) this was a delightful find! I think next time I’ll try out the Wild Berry Lemonade!

I am willing to admit that my nail painting skills are beyond terrible. Like a blindfolded toddler must have done it, terrible. So every now and then I’ll treat myself to a mani/pedi so I can at least look a little put together. Summer is my favorite time for manicures, because it is the one season where it is socially acceptable to bust out the hot pinks and other array of electric colors. This week I chose a bright orange/coral (I’d give you the name, but it was a gel manicure so it was probably just a bunch of weird numbers) and I am loving it! They definitely “pop” and go great with fun stacked bracelets. I got a hot pink pedicure, but it has already chipped so I thought it would be best not to showcase my busted feet. You’re welcome.

This past Sunday was National Best Friend Day! I didn’t spend it with any BFFs, because I spent most of the day napping, but honestly what genius puts a friend holiday on a Sunday anyways? I texted Lindsey (the one in the B&W dress in the big photo) “Happy National BFF Day!” and she responded with “Father of The Bride Part II is on”, which was just more of a confirmation as to why we are best friends in the first place. I feel bad because I failed to text my other good friends, but I guess I can use this post to say Happy Belated BFF Day to Natalie, Stefan, Sara, Rachel, Courtney (Who will always be “Chugs” in my phone), Kelsey, and Havs (Her birth name is Holly, but I have never called her that). I guess I could say some really great things about my friends, or I could let the greatest theme song of the greatest show of all time say it for me.

That’s all for today, folks! I promise to return with avengance on Monday, and bring back the IWTGTT Wednesdays, and Thursday and Friday posts. I hate slacking off on this, so no more excuses! Friends leaving for China, can just deal with it!
